What are denture?
This is the appliance that are custom made to replace a person’s missing teeth and restore appearance and oral function that were lost.
When a person is missing teeth, he or she may experience a variety of problem.
The person may become less confidant in their smile and have difficulty in speaking, eating certain foods.
It can be either full or partial denture.
A full denture is used when all teeth are missing while a partial denture is used when only some tooth are missing.

REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURE

Complete denture can be either conventional or immediate type.
Conventional can be placed after 8 to 12 weeks after the teeth have been removed and immediate ones are advanced can be positioned after as soon as the teeth are removed.
This can replace all upper or lower teeth while partial denture replace only one or few tooth.


Partial denture or bridge which can be replace one or more natural teeth.
It consists of replacement tooth attached to pink or gum coloured plastic base or some time metal supported base that hold it in mouth.
Implant supported is the type of, that replaces several teeth at once.
Your overdenture will need at least two implants for support but dentist typically recommends all on six implant for better result.

Care of dentures


Care should be taken as it is important for health of dentures as well as mouth.
Remove it, at night and use them at day time.
Always keep your dentures, sink in water after removal.
Handle it carefully, to avoid dropping them.
Always brush and rinse your denture but not with toothpaste, you can use cleaner.
