Application to exposed, vital pulp tissue (direct pulp capping).<br> ii.    Application to dentin as a protective barrier between restorative materials and deep vital dentin (indirect pulp capping) or where dentin to restorative material contact is not desired.<br> <strong>Contraindication of dycal<\/strong><br> i.    Increased calcium level in blood and urine.<br> ii.    Kidney stone.<br> iii.    Phosphate in blood.<br> iv.    Increased level of vit D.<br> <strong>Advantages-<\/strong><br> \u2981    Promotes healing and repair<br> \u2981    Stops internal resorption<br> \u2981    Initially bactericidal then bacteriostatic<br> \u2981    High PH stimulates fibroblast<br> \u2981    Easy to use<br><strong> Disadvantages-<\/strong><br> \u2981    Associated with primary tooth resorption<br> \u2981    Does not exclusively stimulates dentinogenesis<br> \u2981    Does exclusively stimulate reparative dentine<br> \u2981    May degrade during acid etching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clinical process are as follows<\/strong>&#8211;<br> \u2981    Moisten the prepared cavity. Using the cotton pliers, pick up a small cotton pellet, wet it and remove the excess water by squeezing it on the gauze.<br> \u2981    Dispense the pastes.
