WHAT IS PARTIAL DENTURE EXACTLY?
\u2981 Partial denture are removable denture, which replaces one or more teeth in the upper and lower portion of mouth.
\u2981 Removable partial denture or bridge usually consist of replacement tooth attached to a pink or gum coloured plastic base, which is sometimes connected by metal frame work that hold the denture placed in mouth.
\u2981 This denture fills the spaces created by missing teeth and it protect other teeth from changing its position.
\u2981 It has internal attachment called as clasp that attach to other tooth crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDICATION OF PARTIAL DENTURE
\u2981 It is indicated in patient who have extremely reduced dentition and more teeth are missing that means more edentulous areas.
\u2981 A patient who are physically and emotionally endangered.
\u2981 A patient who have severe periodontitis and excessive bone loss.
\u2981 It include span length, the inability to achieve adequate retention to the fixed prosthesis.
\u2981 In case of congenital malformation, there is a few widely spaces are present so denture is indicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TYPES OF PARTIAL DENTURE ARE AS FOLLOWS:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Acrylic resin<\/li>
  2. Metal cast <\/li>
  3. Flexible<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    CAST PARTIAL DENTURE (CPD)
    \u2981 It is most commonly used denture.
    \u2981 It is a type of denture, it has cast metal frame work with acrylic resin prosthetic teeth.
    \u2981 It consist of a cast metal frame work with set of artificial teeth in an acrylic resin.
    \u2981 It is stronger, more durable and retentive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    INDICATION OF CPD:
    \u2981 Patient who have lost some of the tooth (partially edentulous)
    \u2981 Trauma to jawbone.
    \u2981 Patient desires.
    \u2981 Gum problem but other teeth are good.

    \u2981 No teeth present behind the edentulous area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    CONTRAINDICATION:
    \u2981 Poor oral hygiene.
    \u2981 Front teeth area.
    \u2981 Poor gum health.
    \u2981 Week teeth in the arch.
    \u2981 Rampant caries<\/p>\n\n\n\n
